As the demand for clean, renewable energy continues to grow exponentially, photovoltaic (PV) technology’s ability to convert sunlight directly to electricity is seen as a critical building block in reducing energy costs and fossil fuel dependence. Commercial PV systems have been around for over fifty years; solar panels built in the 1950’s are still operating with less than 5% performance degradation. More recent PV innovation has increased efficiency and decreased costs, improving its ability to meet today’s commercial demands.
Vector Lighting Products create renewable energy using Direct Distributive Power Generation (DDPG) solar technology. DDPG is a highly-efficient method in which solar energy is seized, sized and used at the point of application rather than generating electricity at a remote solar field and then distributing that power from afar to the specific application. By generating electricity at the point of need, our products decrease overall power consumption.
Vewpoint LED recognizes that solar does not have to be an all-or-nothing approach. Using Vector retrofit products, customers can upgrade from traditional inefficient lighting to solar by installing Vector’s hybrid Solar-LED solutions directly into their existing infrastructure, resulting in the least environmental impact, minimal waste, minimal incremental cost, and 100% reliability since the system maintains a backup grid connection. For many applications, solar energy can supply up to 100% of the power needed to run the existing light.
